The development in Southern Sydney comprises an amalgamation of two previous lots to create a single 5 story residence of 22 apartments (made up of 5x 3 bedroom, 13x 2 bedroom and 4x 1 bedroom with an additional 2 basement levels of parking availability).

The architectural goal being to find a balance between the existing character and create a fresh new contemporary feature that will bring great comfort, sanctuary and harmony to its occupants and also to the greater community.

The use of specific materials and details help to frame and express in a new and different way, along with landscaping throughout to add valuable greenery and communal open space, this gives a new character that is sympathetic with the surroundings whilst also being a unique addition.
design and form takes queues from the new and old
The developments looks to respect the existing neighbourhood expression but with a new and modern aesthetic, not only to sit in harmony with the context but to be pleasant and inviting on its own.

The use of white brick and raw concrete elements, help to ground the building, and provide a recognisable materials with a tactile quality, giving the building a timeless feel with a human scale and connection. These also continue much of the existing aesthetic in the neighbourhood whilst also presenting them in a contemporary style and form.

Walls adjoining windows are also slanted back at part to also provide more articulation on the facade. Even the pergola and metal fencing has this slight angle to feed into that language and provide the building with a distinct character, that is subtle and not overbearing against the many traditional brick houses nearby whilst still being contemporary and new.
